Clinical Health Psychology Services

Clinical health psychology services are provided in collaboration with our patients’ physicians and are designed to help patients gain control over their symptoms, contributing to measurably successful treatment or management of/coping with their illnesses. All services provide patients with demonstrable improvement in their symptoms, quality of life, ability to function and personal productivity.

Medical problems amenable to clinical health psychology services or programs may include:

  • Anxiety and depression (illness related)
  • Cancer
  • Cardiovascular disease – risk factor identification and reduction
  • Certain Neurological conditions including some types of headaches, movement disorders and non-epileptic
    behavioral events
  • Chronic pain
  • Family & Relationship problems related to stress and illness
  • Infertility
  • Insomnia
  • Irritable bowel syndrome, rumination syndrome, other GI problems
  • Muscle pain
  • Obesity, including bariatric surgery
  • Organ transplantation
  • Raynaud’s phenomenon
  • Some sexual dysfunctions
  • Stress-related disorders
  • Trouble following a medical treatment plan
